  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: Ruiz Never Contacted Us For Joshua, Would Have Probably Wanted 10 Million

Eddie Hearn, promoter for heavyweight Anthony Joshua, explains that Robert Helenius is a very credible opponent on short notice. Helenius had seen action three days ago, when he took down Mika Mielonen in three rounds. It was Helenius' first bout since getting knocked out in the first round by Deontay Wilder last October.

Eddie talks s*** a lot of the time. But he isn't wrong Ruiz outpriced himself with Fury this year. And ordered to fight Wilder Nov 22 yet nearly a year on no agreement cause he is out pricing himself with Wilder too

Remarkably there is some credibility in Helenius as an opponent insofar as he really can crack and lots of people think AJ has a glass jaw (I don't subscribe to this notion, but there's no denying a lot of people do think this way).

And really, with a handful of days to fight night, the list of fighters available could not have been long. Credit to Helenius for taking it on.

Andy is not pricing himself out against Wilder. 50/50 is fair for Wilder vs Ruiz and 60/40 is pushing it. Anything less is a clear duck by Wilder.

Since Ruiz didn't even try to defend the belts ive called him Buster.

All Ruiz wanted was the ig clicks, shouldn't even be in the top 10.

These ranking systems need to start equating inactivity into a fighter's ranking.

Doesn't the promoter contact people to see if they want the fight? Helenius is a decent replacement, but then again Helenius is 39, and just fought last weekend! "It Is What It Is!" Helenius was brought in to lose!

Wilder v Ruiz is an ordered fight.

The WBC are supposed to state the split if the fighters can't agree. They haven't.

So it's not a real ordered fight. It's some kind of WBC nonsense.

add that to my long list of reasons to hate the ABC organizations, they randomly enforce their rules however they see fit. in this case ruiz-wilder would be a really interesting fight, i would like to see it and the ABC who mandated it is useless in actually making the fight happen.
