Very few fighters do good when they drop back down. As long as he says he can make 154 I'm in.

The excuse will be that Jermell Charlo is a weaker champion who had already been beaten by two slightly above average fighters in Castano (bogus Draw) and Harrison. Which is what a lot of fans have said for years. So technically, nothing will change. Just that Crawford fans will take exception to other fans repeating what they’ve said for years about Jermell and call it “excuses” and “targeting Crawford”.

Flip side is he has a built in excuse when crawford knocks him out, he will complain he "moved up" and "had to lose 14 pounds of pure muscle" to get back down... just watch
              No big deal, right? It's just 14 pounds...fourteen. Four.........teen.

As much as I'd like to see this fight, I don't strike it as being competitive with how utterly destructive and possessed Crawford looked that night.

              The fact that Charlo has:

a-) signed to fight Canelo at 168 and now might be comfortable staying up there or only moving down to 160
b-) Will get beat down if not softened up in that fight (with Canelo)
c-) Likes to take periods of inactivity (and more with how the fight might go with Canelo)

I just don't see the fight happening for at least a year, if at all.

AND IF IT DOES, that inactivity/Canelo fight might legitimately give Crawford a shot at becoming a three weight undisputed weight champion...which is absolutely bat**** crazy to think that.

Claressa Shields is probably the closest one to have achieved this by unifying in a third weight class. Regardless, the opportunity is RIGHT THERE in the scope's line of sight. If Crawford takes out Charlo...good Lord. As if Bud wasn't a bad man already...

It's ballsy if Charlo takes a Bud fight directly after a Canelo fight but I find it hard to believe.

I hope he doesn't demand a catchweight of 156 or something without the titles on the line. That'll be some slimy shenanigans if Jermell does that.
