David Benavidez Vs. Demetrius Andrade In The Works For Fall

David Benavidez and former two-division world champion Demetrius Andrade have a fight in the works for November or December. It’ll be interesting to see if this fight actually happens because both guys have recently avoided taking risky fights, and either of them could choose to drag their fight in negotiations to make sure this match doesn’t take place.

Andrade finally gets a good fight after turning down Zach Parker and Janibek Alimkhanuly.

Those were bad career moves on Andrade’s part to turn down those fights because it showed that he was hypocritical, as he had been complaining about how Canelo Alvarez avoided him and other top guys.

Then he’s offered tough opposition, turns them down, and chooses to play it safe.

Benavidez (27-0, 23 KOs) will defend his WBC interim super middleweight title against the unbeaten Andrade (32-0, 19 KOs), with the winner to be mandatory to champion Canelo Alvarez.

“Sources close to the operation tell me that David Benavidez will go against Demetrius Andrade in one of the last months of this year.

Jaime Munguía’s handlers have chosen not to fight Benavidez,” said JuliusJulianis.

Benavidez recently beat former IBF super middleweight champion Caleb Plant in a grueling contest last March. Plant dominated the first half but then ran out of gas and got worked over in the last six rounds.

This fight is happening because Benavidez choose not to take the risky match against WBA ‘regular’ super middleweight champion David Morrell Jr., who made him look avoidant & scared by not agreeing to face him after he called him out.

Morrell exposed a side of Benavidez that we hadn’t seen, showing that he’s not willing to take a risk in a 50-50 fight.

Another reason why the Benavidez-Andrade fight is being made is that Jaime Munguia chose not to fight Benavidez, which isn’t all that surprising.

Although he showed interest in facing Benavidez after his narrow win over Sergiy Derevyanchenko last June, the closeness of that fight likely made him and his management put the brakes on facing the Mexican Monster.

The World Boxing Council has chosen not to order Canelo to defend against Benavidez this year, so perhaps in 2024, they could be ready to order the contest. Whether Canelo will be the champion by that point is unknown. If he loses to Jermell Charlo next month on September 30th, the problem of fighting the Benavidez-Andrade winner will be his. He’ll have inherited Canelo’s problem that he’s avoided for ages.

Slow down...that was written by Jeff Sorby, aka, jiffy jeff a known BulShyter with a reputation for making things up....serious credibility issues. Nobody in the boxing community take him serious. Also, what Julius Julianis claims means nothing, another one with no credibility.

Prime example of Jeff's lying crap: "Morrell exposed a side of Benavidez that we hadn’t seen, showing that he’s not willing to take a risk in a 50-50 fight" GTFO, Vegas favors Benavidez by 90% and give Morrell a 10% chance for good reason.
Morrell & his team are not serious about fighting Benavidez and never were. Morrell has 9 pro fights and he comes straight to you and trys to tough it out, a style tailor made for Benavidez.

Andrade hasn't fought in forever but he's an awkward, long range, moves and he has pop. Andrade makes everyone look bad and THAT is why nobody wants to fight him. If Andrade doesn't gas out he wins and if he does he gets KOed.

Sadly, Jeffy has zero credibility so I have my doubts. But hey, maybe he's right this time, even a broken clock is right once a day.

All I know is Benavidez wanted Morrell Jr., and Ronnie Shields was blocking that! After Morrell Jr.'s last fight, and Ronnie gave the green light, Benavidez went from Munguia, and now to Andrade! I won't say he's ducking Morrell Jr., because I understand he doesn't have a big fanbase, etc., but Benavidez definitely does not have the same energy he had about a year ago!

While he's waiting on Benavidez or Canelo, I hope Morrell Jr. fights Shiskin or Caleb Plant!

So you think this is about race? You think Charlo did what he did because Plant is white and Plant slapped Charlo because Plant thought he could get away with it? That's your take?

Charlo is known for running up on people and talking crazy, the only difference here is that he decided to put hands on the other guy and the other guy reacted. Charlo is sick, a sever case of bipolar, who knows, he's obviously not well.

Charlo instigated the entire thing, calling Plant a bitch ass white boy and pulling his beard more than once. Putting your hands on someone in an aggressive way is battery, which Jermall did first by grabbing and pulling on Caleb's beard. Plant warned him, yet Jermall did it again to humiliate him in front of his wife and everyone in the room. It's not about race, it's about being a man and respecting another man. Those are good points. Morerell vs Plant would be a great fight but after the grinding loss to Benavidez, Caleb may not be in a hurry to grind it out again with Morrell. That said, after Plant lost to Canelo I thought he was financially set and done but no, he chose to fight Benavidez (of all people) for a lot less. I don't think any of these guys are ducking Morerell but like Andrade it's a risk reward thing. I hope I'm wrong because the fights you mentioned are certainly terrific fights that I would gladly pay for.

Charlo is a depressed alcoholic. Whenever he goes on Live he just rants for 30 minutes slurring his words.

But if you watch the video you can hear Plant literally say "don't touch my ****ing face again"

However, that's Plant's side of the story. We have yet to hear Charlo's side of the story. I believe Caleb is coward. He is bullying people like Jermall Charlo who is mentally weak, sick, vulnerable and won't fight back.
