  • WBO blocks simple Charlo - Crawford undisputed title fight. Will GIVE AWAY WBO belt to Tim Tszyu

Not exaggerating. WBO states they will simply take and give Charlo's belt to Tim Tszyu immediately after the Charlo-Canelo fight. They said they will "let" Charlo walk out with his belt to call himself the champ before the fight and then immediately just gift it away to Tim.

This means that if Crawford wanted to become unified 154 champ he would have to fight BOTH Charlo and Tim..... weird WBO decided this in the last two days after all this talk of Crawford- Charlo being possible. What a joke.

    WBC pull
ed the same bullchit antics for Bivol-Canelo at 168 saying they would "not allow" canelo to defend his WBC title against Bivol (the one he defended against amazing challengers like John Ryder), this move would prevent Bivol from being a two weight 4 belt unified champ..... Its a move to protect canelo and it hurts the sports credibility because it prevents Bivol from reaching two weight champ, they made it impossible for him on their own whim.

It would hold more weight for Bud to earn undisputed the hard way, as opposed to just beating 1 guy.

The champ always used to be "just one guy", then it was 2, then 3 and now 4 guys.

Its less meaningless when the ABCs just change up their rules as they see fit for their own agenda. How meaningful is that WBO belt for Tim Tszyu when hes handed it for not even fighting?

And WBO refusing to put their belt on the line at 168 for Bivol but John Ryder can fight for it.... The sole purpose of that is to keep milking canelo fights and taking their purse cut.

To be a 4 belt unified champ today, its part hard work and part pure luck and pure blessings by the ABC's that they didnt intentionally block it for their own benefit.

This was announced to be due awhile back. Tszyu has been mandatory since 2021. It’s 2023. They are doing what most of these sanctioning bodies should do to keep the divisions moving.

Boxing fans need to better understand what’s going on, rather than shtting on everything, even when it’s to your benefit.

I know we’d all like Crawford to be able to force Charlo to fight or expose him as a duck, but hopefully that’s not what Charlo is, and he takes the fight regardless of the WBO twisting his arm.

i don't understand this because a Tim Tszyu/Bud fight isn't as big as a Bud/Charlo undisputed championship fight.

from what I understand, these sanctioning bodies pull 3% of the purse, wouldn't they want 3% of Charlo vs Bud and then 3% of Bud vs Tszyu?

Now it's gonna be just 3% of Tszyu vs Bud/Charlo since the WBO belt won't be up for grabs with Bud vs Charlo

          Maybe I'm missing something here

I actually like Tim Kazoo vs Terence next year. That’s an amazing fight.

You don’t understand that the mandatory challenger has been waiting 2, going on 3 years go get his shot at the title? He sat back because of the unification between Charlo and Castano, which had a rematch one year later, then Charlo is sitting out another year due to an “injury”, now he’s moving up in weight to fight someone else, one year after that, if he ever comes down, he’ll rather fight Crawford? What’s the point of being ordered as mandatory? Common sense he gets stripped.

Charlo OBVIOUSLY never asked for permission. Wbo does stick to its rules.

It makes a lot more sense than waiting around for Charlo. Charlo may or may not return to 154 and Crawford isn't getting any younger.

Isn't WBC also standing in the way of Bivol/Beterbiev unification though? Canelo may be the beneficiary of WBC's ******ity, but he isn't the reason why they're getting in Bivol's way.
