Comments Thread For: Jermell Charlo: I Made History Before; It Feels Good, I Know That Feeling

Jermell Charlo loves the idea of doing something that nobody else has been able to achieve. The rare occurrence of a matchup between two undisputed champions will see Charlo move up two divisions to challenge super middleweight king Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. He is a sizeable underdog ahead of their September 30 clash in Las Vegas, but likes his chances to once again etch his name in the record books.

By the time Canelo is done beating him, Jermell will look as ugly as his brother.

I feel like 154 has been an entertaining division but I don't necessarily think it's one with any elite fighters. You had some good fighters making interesting fights: Hurd, Trout, Harrison, Rosario, J-Rock, Fundora, Lubin, Castano, etc. On any given night, one may beat the other.

Charlo ended up reigning supreme over an entertaining but limited division. It's an impressive feat but I'm not so sure it's a feat of greatness.

We'll see how his fight with Canelo goes at 168.

I'd love to see all these jokes and pretender hiders gone. Wouldn't it be nice to actually root for a fighter to win? Someone with some class? OK, I'm dreaming here.

They said the same thing about Bud and his undisputed run at 140 but look what happened last weekend?
