I'd love to see the fight at 47 or 54. Boots might want to be careful what he's wishing for though. I don't see him beating Crawford. Boots and Spence is a good fight too ,if Boots is comfortable at 54.
Anybody know if Vergil Ortiz is going to fight again ? I feel bad for the guy. I know what it's like to come down with a weird disease that changes the trajectory of your life as a young man , it's not easy.

Avanesyan was an easy 10 milly tune up fight. Whereas when a fighter fights an opponent like Boots they want the recognition and the money, of fighting that caliber of fighter. Boots doesnt bring any of that yet. Thats the problem. Why would you want to fight a killer if you wont get recognition or money?

We all hope Bud takes that fight, but I just doubt it happens, because it doesn't necessarily make a lot of sense from Buds perspective. And I will reiterate, no one knows who Boots is, and that is a shame. Like its really surprised me how no one mentioned him at all. After the fight, the pundits, the commentators, all the post fight media attention
Last time i checked there is something called your MANDATORY.
That is one of the "benefits" of being a multi belt champ.

Bud used to be there ...against Jeff Horn.
Spence used to be there ... against Kell Brook.

Boots just wants his shot at the belt and if TC is who is in possession of it , then so be it.
Do I think he beats TC, i doubt it but that is beside the point.

I feel like people think about Canelo and his "chasing greatness" stuff when they look at situations like this. There is a huge difference here. Canelo has had huge money for years and he cherry picks washed guys, or a guy like Bivol that he feels he can beat, while holding the belts hostage. He has done it again with Charlo.

Bud called for Spence for years, has beaten 8 top 10 welters, 6 by KO. He finally got Spence in the ring and destroyed him. Bud is 35 and has made good money, but is a number one pound for pound and has not made great money. If Bud wants to go up and fight Charlo, or even attempt a fight at 160, possibly a Canelo fight, etc, he is at a stage where he has done more than warrant it. Now, if Bud moves up and holds the WW belts hostage, I will chastise him just as I have Canelo.

If he is going to move up he should vacate and allow Ennis to fight for belts. And I think he will. He may fight Ennis just to shut him up. Ennis got severly tagged in his last fight by a B guy, and that guy also took Boots shots all night and kept coming. Bud beats him up and stops him, IMO.

But if the fight does not happen, Bud needs to vacate and let the young guys at WW fight it out. And him not fighting Boots at this point in favor of big money fights would be totally fine. He just needs to vacate if so.

Yeah, Ennis is really the only guy I want to see Crawford fight at 147. I just think Bud's going to 154 to rematch Spence, and then stay there for Charlo. That puts Ennis off until 2025. It will be interesting to see what the sanctioning bodies do. Will they start stripping Bud immediately? He doesn't really have a powerful promoter behind him. Can he fit in another fight before the Spence rematch?

You mean “earn a Crawford shot” the way Brooks and Khan did? Is that what you mean?
So according to you, Thurman is a worthwhile opponent for Bud because once upon a time (over three years ago) he was a title holder.
Only a casual would spew such malarkey
So Brook and Khan were just up and coming unproven contenders? As opposed to being former world champions just like Thurman was? Thurman also being a unified champion? And you forgot to mention Porter who was a worthwhile opponent, coincidentally first beaten by Brook. Sorry, I'm just putting this in casual terms for you to understand. Who's the casual again?

Jaron Boots better do something now before things get worse. He's a big 147 guy and only a year from now he'll have a hard time losing weight. Talk to Dunkin, talk to your dad, tell them to visit Espinoza's office and prepare to make an offer. You gotta be an idiot to expect Crawford, who is not affiliated to any network, to initiate the talks and beg for the fight. That would be silly.

Why doesn't Boots fight Stanionis? Now that Ortiz is out for the time being, it would be a good win for him against a top opponent and a way to raise his profile for a fight with Crawford.

I'm a Spence fan, and I don't expecet Bud to fight the kid. Bud done put in his work, Ennis needs to go fight Stanionis
