Comments Thread For: Joshua on Whyte: I Don't Think He's Improved Massively Since First Fight

Former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been criticized as of late for jumping around from trainer to trainer, but he believes that his upcoming opponent, Dillian Whyte, has made way too many changes to his corner.

Both have gone backwards imo. At least Whyte hasn't tried to change himself. Aj looks uncomfortable & unsure today trying to be something he's not.

Arguably neither have really improved since their first fight and perhaps even regressed significantly, I find it rather ironic how Joshua mentions switching trainers given his recent record of doing so and Whyte hasn't tried to change and become something he isn't in the process of changing said trainers unlike AJ again arguably for the worse...

Is Whyte popular or exciting in some circles I am not aware of? He is Glen Johnson, John Ruiz, Sergio Mora, Tim Bradley, and Clotty for me....just a guy that seems to get fights that I wish someone else was getting. Zero interest in this fight

He's a pretty big name in the UK

Him and AJ have a rivalry going back to the amateurs, they don't like each other. Whyte knocked AJ out as an amateur and AJ knocked out Whyte as a pro when they were fighting for a British title early in their careers.

As for other big fights, I'm not really sure which ones he got. He got the Fury fight but he was his mandatory, so that's OK. He had a fight with Parker which he won. The Povetkin fight was some eliminator.

So really he hasn't been in any fights he didn't deserve to be in, he earned his shots. Even this time, both AJ and Whyte are coming off the a win against a same common opponent and both lost their fights before that. They're in a similar position right now.

I dont think Whyte is a top fighter but his only losses are to Fury, AJ and Povetkin and he avenged the latter.

although, all of those names are significantly better and or more accomplished than Whyte, except for maybe mora.

He's got a point, all of Whyte's knockout losses have been to uppercuts.

AJ needs to deal with own gun-shy, tentative mentality in the ring before he starts analyzing his opponent's career path.
