Will spence be ready at 154 soon, don't think so?

10 oz gloves at 154 does make a difference.

Seems to me, the majority of the hardcore fans, especially on here, see it as a lopsided match-up, so they don't want it! Crawford already saying making 147 was hard, so he's cool with fighting Spence again, even @ 154, or Charlo @ 154, so he don't want it! Lastly, the casuals don't know Boots, so they don't want it! Boots is in a tough spot! There's nobody out there for him to make a name for himself, and the Top Guys all have better financial opportunities, than fighting Boots!

Crawford and Spence will be fighting a contractually obligated rematch and that’s all there is too it Boots will have to bide his time and be patient. He’s young and his time will come but he needs to show some respect.

I agree, a rematch at 147 or 154 is pointless. If crawford moves up he may as well fight charlo which is a history making fight for him. If he stays at 147 then he must fight Ennis who is the only worthy contender in that division unless Teo or Taylor move up.

After seeing Crawford outclass Spence, Boots is not yet ready for Crawford. He cannot take shots like in the Villa fight. It will be an early night for Boots. He can however fight Spence first to test the waters.

If he gives Spence a rematch it’ll be because Spence has forced it and he’ll get some more retirement money. Other than that he’s clearly not going to waste one of his last few fights on a high risk low reward fighter like Ennis. Not a hope. He’ll go after Charlo at 154 or fight for those titles if Charlo decides he’s not coming back down if Canelo batters him.

Personally I think Ennis would probably get beat anyway. He’s too aggressive and still gets hit too much by much less skilled fighters than Crawford. He’s also a victim of his own success in that he’s avoided- the down side of which is that he’s never faced anyone even close to Crawford’s skill level, movement, accuracy etc etc.

Been following boxing for years and lost count of the number of prospects I’ve seen fail at the first hurdle. They’re only prospects up until that first loss and until they face a live body truth is no one can predict if that happens. That said Boots has more promise than anyone I’ve seen for a long time. He should face Thurman, that would be a good measure of where he’s at. Or Ugas. Ortiz is done at 147 so shouldn’t even enter the conversation. Clearly can’t make weight any more and my guess is he’ll do nothing at 154 without the size advantage.
Nice post. If Crawford goes after a big money fight, it will probably be at 154. Since Charlo is jumping up to 168 lbs. to fight Canelo, if he loses, would he drop back down to 154 lbs. to defend his Super Welterweight titles? That’s the biggest money fight for Crawford. I don’t think Bud is afraid of Ennis at all. But if there’s little money in that fight - what’s the point. Disagree on one match - namely a washed up, head leading and light punching Ugas versus Ennis. That does nothing for Boots in terms of preparing him for higher skilled boxers. Ugas was terrible against Spence and the only reason that fight was made was Ugas beating old man Manny, who was so far past his prime that it was painful to watch. Not the Pacquiao I’ll remember. Ugas should just disappear as he adds nothing to the welterweight division. Thurman versus Boots would be interesting, but Thurman is past his prime, as well. Crawford has bulldozed the Welterweight division and it will be interesting to see how he maximizes his earning potential in his upcoming fights. Truth is, there isn’t much more to conquer outside of another 4 belt conquest at 154.

Boots is the same guy that ducked Bud. Why talk now when he could have fought him before Spence.

spence took a drawn out beating up to 9 rounds, was on bambi legs most of the fight but kept getting hit, bambi legs are a sign of brain damage even if temporary brain damage and that is what they believe is the worst time to get further hits to the head. It could be more safer to just get sparked out cold from one shot than be hit repeatedly for 9 rounds.

lets say spence has better punch resistance at 154, he is still slower than crawford, there is still the skill gap, crawford still has much better defense, he might even last 12 but he is going to get his ass beat again and perhaps even worse. crawford has a big weight cut too for 147 and at 154 against the exact same guy, he is going to have even better stamina himself.

                      Crawford won’t touch him.
What has you so convinced that Ennis is the goods and can beat Bud, lmao? He hasn’t beaten anyone except bums.
