Comments Thread For: Spence Optimistic About Crawford Rematch: I Know I'm A Lot Better Than What I Showed

LAS VEGAS - Errol Spence Jr. barely had time by the start of his post-fight press conference late Saturday night to process the brutal beating he had just absorbed at the hands of Terence Crawford.

Spence cannot outbox Crawford, his only chance is a chest to chest war, push Crawford to the ropes and get in and work in close range so he can t be countered as easily. That’s his only shot as I see it. At medium range he got slaughtered especially after throwing slow looping crosses

        That wasn’t close at all

It was a one sided beat down from start to finnish . Jab was shaking him to his boots

Spence needs to build himself back up before taking another whooping

Spence first needs to take care of the damage. He looked busted. Go get some rest and recover

He can do better, but the end result would likely be the same.

Doesn't have the speed, movement or punch variety to bother Bud.

These forced rematches are no good.

They should only happen if there is a demand for it.

The bottom line is Errol has not been the same fighter since that Shawn Porter fight back in 2019. Since that time; He has fought only three times in four years.

He needs to fight more often in order to keep himself both focused and disciplined. However, I do admire his heart and determination though. At least he has never ducked anybody in his weight division.

He wants all the smoke from the best challengers out there. He has fought every titleholder available in his weight class. However, his inactivity has appeared to have aged him.

Why does this fight need a rematch?

Crawford proved he was far superior.

Spence needs to go to 154. See what he can do. Crawford maybe defends against Boots then does same.

Maybe Juneteenth 2025 weekend or December 2025 for a rematch at 154. The only plausible way I can see Spence having any chance is if Crawford has slowed down.
