I keep reading this "real Welterweight" comment by some posters.

What is a real WelterWeight?

That is a silly question.

A "real welterweight" is somebody who fights 85% of their career at 140 pounds and below.

A "real welterweight" is somebody who fights 70% of their career at 130 pounds (super featherweight).


By contrast, a "blown up welterweight" is somebody like Hatton. He only had 40-ish fights at 140 and then had to make the enormous jump o 147.
