I know of those examples. But Crawford is miles better than all of those opponents at the time those fights happened. Hagler was done. Marquez was tiny and let’s face it. Nobody is Floyd.

Didn't like what I heard on the microphone during the face off or what I saw.

Spence told Crawford they're about to make bank for making the fight happen. Then they shook hands like friends. If this fight ends in a draw, you heard it here first, EVERYONE is in on this.

Jmm wasn't tiny he weighed 150 and was a former LW as Floyd was a former LW, there is only 2/3 pound between them across 4 divisions from weighin to fight night weights both guys were razor sharp in that fight, Hagler Im not sure what youre meaning there as it was Ray who was out for years and was very sharp, show me some elite fighters who wasn't sharp after a good time out, Im mean fast sharp guys are pretty much always that as its hand-eye coordination, sharpness was never gained from fighting twice a year its gained in the gym. I think you're running with one of boxing's oldest myths that came in the day when guys were fighting every mth, modern conditioning is a whole new beast today.

Consider Mayweather's legendary discipline and lifestyle versus what Spence has been through. Those things aren't the same but I get your point.

For sure Spence has overcome a lot to get here, but that doesn't mean Spence wont be sharp, he could also just as easily be as flat as a tack so much revolves around his preparation and peak same for TC, the peaking is so important to arrive in the zone on the night, its a steep climb to that perfect peak and one step over its a cliff, I stand that sharpness in gained in the gym and that elite guys can have a year out and it won't effect them if their camp is on point.

I was wondering whether the ceremonial weigh in is just for show? The fighters are not actually making weight in-front of the mass media and fans.

I actually don't like that dynamic. It is apart of the competition between the fighters making the weight 'In-front of the fans and media'.

So this ceremonial weigh in rule, if you really think about it? Just promotes fighters to weight drain themselves even more 'They now get 36 hours to exploit with their backwards method of weight draining'.

Note: I am still a proponent of the same day weigh in rule, or something very similar being reinstated etc.
