Roy's unusual style worked primarily because no matter where his hands were, you couldn't catch him with a good shot. now he just lays on the ropes without using the center of the ring. he doesnt use his elusiveness.
Roy knows his options:
get his legs back(unlikely)
develop a better defensive strategy than just lying on the ropes
GET THE HELL OUT OF THE RING
the way he fought Glen Johnson was embarassing(just thought I'd throw that out there). i was watching the fight with people who'd never seen a Jones fight. they all called him a ***** for the way he fought.

This is from Roy's camp, talking about the possible matchup with Woods for his IBF title in September.

He wouldnt be considered the greatest ever...not by a longshot. I agree that he must be thinking that though.

I dont know anything about Woods but I would not pick Roy Jones to win against any of the current Lt. Heavyweight title holders. The Light Heavyweight division is actually very strong, probably the second strongest divsion after the Jr. Welterweights. I would pick Jones to lose against Tarver again,Johnson again, Erdei, or Tiozzo.
Jones should fight Michalczewski now. They are both past their primes, Jones can probably beat him now. Prime for prime though I think Michalczewski would have stopped Jones. But that would be one of the biggest money fights in Lt Heavyweight history if Jones fought Michalczewski even now. Considering your drawing pay-per-view revenues from all over Europe and North America.

Nah, he's thinking that he wants to get the respect back that he lost from being ko'd 2wice consecutively. Getting ko'd back to back the way he did eliminates him from being called the greatest without comeback after it.

Roy's losses do not affect his legacy whatsoever, even according to Bert Sugar who is one of the most respected and oldest boxing historians on the planet. Intelligent boxing fans know Roy would have wiped Tarver and Johnson 3-4 years ago.
I shouldn't have to repeat myself though. Not once has Roy said he is coming back vs anyone and the only one who speaks for Roy, is Roy. Brad Jacobs admits himself in the article that Roy has not told him he wants to come back, and given the amount of times Jacobs has been wrong when delivering Roy's supposed intentions, there is absolutely NO credibilty in what he says.
