If Jones is smart, he will NEVER return. Right now he still has his legacy somewhat. People justify his last two defeats as him getting old which is likely true. What if Woods wins or knocks him out? Jones' career overall would take a real hit.
....Your absolutely right. He needs to get the hell out and stay out. Before the knockout to Johnson he was getting his ass beat and offering no resistence. He has completely lost it and is in danger of getting killed in the ring if he doesn't wise up IMO.
This by no means suggests Roy wants to fight Woods. Jacobs has always talked and many times things he's said never happened. Everyone knows the only one in Roy's camp who makes decisions is Roy, and Roy has not once said he will come back vs any specific fighter at any specific date.
Roy should have quit after Ruiz, he had nothing left to prove. Since that fight, he didn't seem as didicated to the sport. Fame and ego took over his ambition. I hope he is training hard for this, not taking woods lightly. If he does lose, he surely needs to get out, he is only killing his own legacy, just like Evander is (or did).
If Jones was to come back and fight,Woods would be my choice over the others.Plus Jones does not want to go out like that ,and his pride will get the better of him.
Actually... would Roy's legacy be improved by getting KOed by Woods?
No, wait... think about it. Whenever we talk about Roy getting old or wrecking himself by dropping weight it's always "maybe" or "if he'd faced Tarver/Johnson back in..." The thing is, we don't KNOW.
Now, here's a chance to get KTFO by a guy he dominated effortlessly three years ago. If that happens, people will say "see, he DEFINITELY got old."
Actually it is a lose lose.. If he wins then people say he didn't get old he just wasn't that good. If he loses they won't say he definitly got old they will say he got old and he was too ****** to know when to stop fighting.
Tiger Woods? James Woods? Those are the people rjj should be fighting because he is finished. He may win a fight or two but not against anyone of substance.
