Ramirez is also 29 years-old. He doesn’t look very ripped, even at 126. I just don’t think he has it in him to fight effectively at 135. Even if he does, Stevenson will probably have moved up by then.

I think we have universally learned from Joshua that muscles/body composition mean little to nothing. I mean Yarde is another prime example.

These guys have to shrink down to make weight and most walk around maybe 10-20 pounds heavier when they are not in camp or have a schedule fight.

I agree Stevenson will eventually move up but not anytime soon. Shakur wants undisputed status. Plus when you run out of opponents you always double back to who beat you. Plus Shakur and Robeisy have both stated they want to run it back in the pros.

Robeisy’s plan is to unify the 126 division and perhaps defend once or twice before moving to 130 to do the same thing. That will probably happen by end of 2025. Rack in another 2 or 3 year run at 130 before moving to 135 in 2028.
Shakur will be a full fledged 140 Ibs guy then. These two aren’t fighting at all.

I get what you mean about timing but 135/140 are higher paying divisions.
I don’t think Robeisy stays at 130 long there is no money especially for a talented 29 years old. Also Cubans typically move up fast as they have a longer amateur career than most.

I agree he will unify maybe even go undisputed if there is a clear path. I think when you mix in the mandos with lower pays typically when people move up.

I’m very happy about the outcome, but Shimizu was no kind of test. 37 year-old fighter who never fought outside Japan. Dude was in way over his head. Robeisy did what he was supposed to do.

True that, but like you said, Robeisy did his job and did it fast. Obviously hes ready for tougher challenges at this point. Looking forward to that.
