This is a personal story that De la Hoya should've kept to himself, what is the point of bringing it up now?

Lol, you turned out to be a coward, so I would actually argue that getting the **** kicked out of you did I’m fact have negative effects. Then again, ur mother was also a coward, so it must run in the blood! Best get to challenging some random kid to a fight, god forbid you picked on someone your own size

People deal with it in different ways. Hes obviously a sensitive guy, getting hit by your parents ******. I eventually knocked out my abusive father, never spoke again.

Exactly! It's shameful on his part, because his mother's deceased, and there's nothing that he can redeem from disclosing this at all.
Except being ridiculed by virtually everyone reading about someone bad mouthing his deceased mother, he had a great career, why does he insist on tarnishing it with this?
He definitely has some inner demons that he's never confronted, and dispelled from his psyche, he can use some serious counselling before thing's get worse for him.

No wonder Oscar was so relentless in the ring, and so weird outside of it with the fishnets, *****s and the blow and all. He was visualizing hitting his mother with 6 and 7 punch combinations to her liver, kidneys, heart, temple, throat, floating rib, chin, jaw, and behind the ear. I heard from one of his close relatives that his mother used to grab, pinch and twist his balls together like 2 quail eggs until his face turned light blue, then while crushing them, she would spit a loogie in his mouth and scream in his face saying, "Ur not a real man. They're not big enough, just like ur daddy's nuts, u dumb toddler di.k mofo"

A strong lesson I learned in years working the streets was that childhood trauma drives personally disorders. This abuse from his mother is definitely childhood trauma. He will be dealing with its effects his entire life. Best of luck to him

Oh man up!!! I got my butt whipped when I was a kid too. Most of the time I deserved it for being a little **** and I did just fine in life! You're just mentally weak. Get over it. You got spanked like most of us did as kids for misbehaving.
