A strong lesson I learned in years working the streets was that childhood trauma drives personally disorders. This abuse from his mother is definitely childhood trauma. He will be dealing with its effects his entire life. Best of luck to him

Oscar is an all-time great, and seeing a bunch of keyboard warriors say he needs to "man up" is rich - they'll never be a tenth of the man he is. A son that cannot tell his Mother he loves her had some terrible stuff happen to him behind closed doors.

I did! I laced up the gloves too in my youth. No. Never at his level. He is by far one of the true greats in boxing, but he admitted he had never had a street fight. He's one thing in the ring where everything is controlled, but a different guy outside of it. I certainly took my share of ass whippings and the severity depended on what I did wrong. I grew up just fine!

Say what you will about the man, and there's a lot, but I just watched part 1 and it's one of the better boxing bios I've seen. Looking forward to part 2.
