GGG wins h2h over 12 rounds. Over 15 rounds hagler wins h2h. Sure hagler got a case for being greater though

It would be a great fight. Hagler is bit gun shy and did not like it to the body. Mentally I give GGG the edge. And this is important. Hagler fought too conservative with a much smaller Duran, allowed Sugar Ray to outsmart him and failed to get busy early in the fight, and fought Vito Antuofermo to a draw. All of these matches happed in Hagler's prime at age 32 or under.

Power wise I would also give GGG the edge. Speed and reach wise, I would give Hagler the sight edge. Height and weight wise, I'd give GGG the slight edge.

How has the style advantage? GGG ate up former weight fighters in his prime. Hagler didn't always do this. I see a pattern of Hagler struggling with short, lower weight fighters. Check for yourself, it's there.

So who wins? I would predict GGG via spilt decision. The above reasons illustrate why.

It is a great fantasy fight.

GGGeezer sends him into permanent coma.

Much bigger, better punch power, better jab, comparable output and comparable chin.

Hagler easily - and I very much enjoyed Golovkin's run. Golovkin looked evenly matched against Jacobs and Canelo although it could be argued he fought both when past his prime.
Haglers level of competition was just so much higher - the seventies and eighties were a golden era - not Golovkins problem but it is what it is. There is no way Canelo would have fought Mugabe at 160. Canelo is a better boxer but Mugabe was destructive. I wouldn't even know who wins with Golovkin vs Mugabe. Hearns would have outboxed Golovkin and not given Golovkin the chance to lay combos on him. Hagler has a case for beating SRL - SRL would have just outright flummoxed Golovkin. Golovkin might have worn down Duran in the end but then again maybe Duran would have been smart enough to avoid a lot of the incoming.

You are referencing fights that he won when he was well past age 32, when Hagler retired.

A prime GGG had no such problems. The issue for Hagler fans is most famous opponents accomplished their best at jr middle of welter. Neither Leonard, Hearns of Duran did pretty much squat at middle weight. Could you imagine if Mayweather or Manny Pac fought GGG at Middleweight? Just saying... that's how it went down.

Mugabe later on proved to have a glass jaw. Check his career and you will see I am correct. Yet he one of the few big middles Hagler beat. And the crude Mugbae was in the lead after 5 rounds, primary because Hagler did not believe in himself. Mugabe is no GGG.

It's a great fight and I'll have to say GGG wins that one because a prime Hagler drew with journeymen Vito Antuofermo.

Canelo hitting harder than Hearns is laughable. Since you want to play that game, Hearns knocked out cruiserweights. Canelo won't even fight cruiserweights if he can't drain them to 180 pounds.

Shot Kovalev would knock that nobody spark out. Whoever that dude is would be considered a stumble bum in 2023

ggg was 35 then. That wasn't his prime. Prime ggg was the guy that fought macklin and stevens.
