Was fighting SWW up until late 2017, when GGG was already in his late 30s. Not a duck, different weight and age group. Kovalev- never fought a fight south of 175, G never fought a fight above 160 until very late in his career. Different weight classes.

Like I wrote, you may have a point, but your examples reek of bias.
bro 2017 was 6 years ago….him and charlo been MW champs for 6 years. He’s only at the end now. I sited kovalev because canelo fought kovalev and so did ward. MW to LHW those 4 were the top of the food chain and 3 of the 4 fought each other and won titles and fought the best in multiple weight classes. One did not. That one was GGG. I was a huge ggg fan at one point waiting for a great fight to pop off but he wouldn’t fight anyone with a pulse at 160 and refused to jump weight classes to fight for titles in other weight classes. He could’ve been a legend but he don’t even have a world class name on his resume that he even fought besides canelo that fought over 154 pounds. I consider Brook world class when he fought him but was a WW.

He retired humbly and quietly what’s so bad about that? He technically retired still a champion which few fighters actually do. Best wishes to him but 41 is 41 no matter your nutrition or lifestyle choices. Everyone ain’t Bernard or foreman, both whom continued fighting long past their sell by date. Hopkins end up outside the ring head first.

Literally one of the most pathetic careers of any fighter that could have been an ATG
Son, you are reaching. dudes still talking about a ward who was offered the fight by hbo (the hbo president is on record saying he offered it) and ward said nope. Then came back talking smack while negotiating catch weight for his ring return TWICE cause he couldn’t even make it to 170 but he was gonna make it for Golovkin. Lara just moved to 160 so you can skip right over that. Kovalev now who wasn’t in his division and never even refuted getting lit up constantly in sparring by the guy. Now Charlo. Bro, save us the time and just skip the selling us wolf tickets and say I don’t like the guy. You even went as far as to mention Benavides in a later thread. You are trying to damn hard bro.

I personally thought he nicked the 1st fight with canelo. That being said that’s the only world class name and win on resume and everyone and their dog knows canelo started his career at MW. Who has ggg EVER beat on the record? I’ll wait

your obviously a fanboy GGG turned down the ward fight. He refused to go up to 168 and refused a catchweight. Bumlovkin said the only catchweight fight he would ever make was for Floyd. Dude has been a euro bum chasing paydays since forever. He was fighting in Europe beating up taxicab drivers while Taylor/Pavlik/Martinez/pwill were all still MWs. Waited till they retired then came over and started saying everyone was ducking him while never taking on a meaningful fight in his whole career. Stop making excuses for his pathetic resume

I didn't think people were now giving Canelo credit for Kovalev, I thought most still viewed it for what it was: him jumping up to take on an old past prime fighter to take a belt he'd never defend. Regardless, I don't really put much stock into jumping weight, I'd rather see guys fight wherever they are there best.

Speaking of which, thats what I am trying to write about Charlo. Yes he had an interim MW belt by mid 2018, but thats when GGG was in negotiations for the Canelo rematch, then it got postpones with the suspension, then G lost his belts. By the end of all that it was 2019. GGG was in his late 30s by then; and I'm not gonna judge him as a fighter by what he's doing at an age when many ATGs were already retired.

If you want to get down on GGG for holding MW belts hostage over the last few years as an old man thats fair. But when its time to evaluate him as a fighter, evaluate the best version of him (whatever you may think of that) not the old man version.

GGG was ducked when in prime, so why should he put his name on the line for wannabes when he's past prime.? No-one allowed GGG to make his name off of them. GGG couldn't make his name beating Hopkins or something like that.
But his last win was very good and he fought pfp no1 in nelo

Nope... Apparently Canelo was meant to leave GGG in the same way as those pictures but it didn't happen. Although Golovkin can't quite pull the trigger like he used to his boxing IQ is still sky high. He is defensively responsible so is able to see a majority of shots coming and still has a strong command of distance. If opponents are able to land on him he most likely rides or rolls the shot. The only weakness is to the body but he possesses the toughness attribute. Murata, Jacobs, Derevyenchenko, and Canelo all fired their best clean shots to GGG's body but he ignored the pain and kept fighting.
