If Charlo beats canelo he’ll move up substantially. But no way to number one. The number one fighter in the world can’t have a loss and a draw on his RECENT record, to fighters that are not viewed as top tier. The public is still aware of those blemishes (as in, it wasn’t in his first few fights as 4 or 6 rounders). Even considering Charlo did the ultimate rebound by knocking them both out afterwards. Also they’ll knock him since canelo would be then looked at as “slipping” losing his last two fights in a row against quality opposition.

Unless it's a fight where there isn't a clear winner like Golovkin vs Cinna boy 1 and 2. If it's a decision and is so close it could be a draw but wasn't scored that way. Blah blah blah
