As a fighter, the smartest thing he could do is quit while he's ahead.

Well, he's an older HW. The major problem for him is the young generation aint afraid to **** like he is. And he picks now to learn to box. He can fight these old eurocans as long as he wants but he lost his belts so the way to the top has to be a cherry pick. But yeah its over.

I give him credit on attempting to improve himself, he’s with the best trainer and camp he possibly could be in. He came
out of his comfort zone and is training with and like an American. Wilder has no interest to go with a trainer who was y going to let him be the boss

Can you imagine what Lennox Lewis and Tyson would had done to Joshua , not to mention 'Bone' crusher Smith! and all quicker than the did Bruno, no doubt . Oliver McCall would have cleaned him out for sure . Joshua needs to stick to the Charles Martins and Dillian Whytes, I think it says a lot when many people , are calling the upcoming Whyte fight a 'huge test' , a 'great fight a 'real danger fight'. ...Whyte never won one second of one minute of one round before he was dramatically KO'd by Fury!

He got off the floor to knock out Klitschko and was being beaten by Povetkin until he also knocked him out. You don’t become a two time unified heavyweight champion or an Olympic gold medalist without facing adversity and coming through it.

              1. Klitchko is also known for not dealing well with adversity and the version of him that Aj fought was 40, coming off a loss and a long stretch of inactivity. The main reason Aj was able to pull that off was because Klitchko couldn’t get it to the next level after that knock down.
              2. You’re reaching, Aj was literally winning on all 3 scorecards when he stopped Povetkin
              3. I’m not saying he’s never dealt with adversity, but I am saying he doesn’t deal with it well, especially recently. Seems that’s pretty clear to see during his fights with Ruiz and both with Usyk. Especially now at this stage of his career he seems to be mentally weaker than when he was younger. Some fighters gradually can’t handle adversity well. Victor ortiz is probably the most infamous quitter of recent times and we’ve seen him overcome adversity in his first fight with berto, but I don’t think anyone would say he deals with it well because we have multiple examples as proof as his career progressed.

I don't understand the 'didn't deal with adversity' against Ruiz. Nor with Usyk.

Do you mean he lost the fights?

Against Ruiz he was sent silly in the 3rd round but kept getting up and going after Ruiz, only to get tagged in the exchanges again. Then he came back and beat him convincingly.

There's no evidence that he's mentally weak. There's plenty that he's mentally simple. But, besides Usyk, they all are in that division.

                  The delusion continues.
Take away all the shot old 38-41 year olds & who's he ever beat?
What was it last week? Mcracken never taught him defence despite the obvious defencive differences between Ruiz 1 & 2.
What are the odds on his next loss he grabs the mic again ruining his opponents moment making it all about him.
Lol you can say that about Tyson Fury besides a show 40 year old Wladimir Klistchko and no talent Deontay Wilder who has Fury beat. Then you can say the same thing about Wilder, besides a 79 year old Luis Ortiz who has Wilder beat. These heavyweights these days are a complete joke.

                    1. You’d never know how Klitschko would have dealt with Joshua in his prime as they fought when he was past it. That’s just presuming.

                    2. I was talking from my perspective, he was losing that fight in my eyes until the stoppage and he was up against it. Scorecards in the favour of the A side home fighter is no surprise.

                    3. He repeatedly got off the floor against Ruiz and the referee stopped the fight, he also apparently had health issues that had effected him in his last few fights, which was diagnosed after the loss. He then took the immediate rematch, changed his style and schooled him. He took the immediate rematch against Usyk too after being schooled himself and performed so much better and lost the fight in the last 3 rounds. That’s called fighting against adversity, again you’re just presuming he lacks it.

Smarter might equate to overthinking in there and fighting passive instead of reactive.
