Canelo isn’t good enough now to stop charlo early despite the 2 weight division difference. Canelo likely believes he can and that’s why he’s taking the fight instead of the fight we all know he should take. He’s insecure which is why he spent much of his career fighting smaller fighters, older fighters, often asks for rehydration clauses and catchweights, fights guys coming off poor performances and takes banned substances. He wants to do whatever he can to give himself an edge. I think there’s potential for it to backfire this time though.

That is probably more like it. Canelo probably down on the cards also.Comment

What makes it intriguing is Canelo has visibly lost a step. Canelo a few years ago wins, but Charlo has an outside chance even with the long layoff. Really depends on how Charlo approaches it. If he stays away from Canelo's power shots for the first half of the fight, he can outbox him. If Charlo goes for the KO there is a good chance Canelo hurts him and stops him. Past round eight Canelo will be tired and counting on the KO.
Canelo has a lot better chance at beating Charlo than Benavidez or Bivol. It is close to a cherry pick with Charlo, but just barely a legit fight IMO.Comment

Canelo might win, but he’s not knocking Charlo out. Canelo lost something over the past few yrs.Comment

Everyone who thinks canelo lost a step is hilarious. He’s always been slow footed. Charlo gonna beat him? Same charlo that lost vs castano first fight and gifted a draw? Same charlo that lost to HARRISON? Charlo got get beat up. He’s a cherry pick. Gonna get countered allllll day and possibly get stopped yesComment

You can't watch Charlo vs Castano or Harrison and think he has any shot here. Canelo has a granite chin, to boot.Comment

Charlo’s best option is to pull a Bivol and thoroughly outwork the slower Canelo. If he gets too complacent, Canelo will most likely wear him down.
Not rooting for one over the other, so no authority on who wins; only thing I can be almost absolutely certain of is that Charlo ain’t delivering a KO. Canelo, for all his faults, has one of the best chins currently.Comment
