Ryan will get out of GB as soon as he can and that will be the nail in the coffin for Golden Boy.
I mean who do they even have left?
Vergil is as good as out, I don't know what Zurdo is up to since Bivol took his soul.
Mungia will be the only one keeping them afloat pretty soon.Comment

...so we're supposed to believe that Cryan Garcia with no belts, made more money in ONE fight than WBO champion Crawford made across damn near his entire Top Rank 147 with guaranteed checks?
Come on man, is anyone buying this?Comment

Who knows? If the fight generated $80 million in PPV buys, half of that goes to the networks and cable providers carrying the fight. Then there is managers, promoters, trainers, and taxes getting their cut. The gate is often used to negotiate the venue and get a higher PPV. Most fighters see little if any of the live gate.Last edited by GhostofDempsey; 07-19-2023, 06:27 PM.Comment

Dunno about you guys but Its hard to believe cryan made that kind of money, thats canelo money right there...if its true good for him and tank. Not bad for a no belt quitter with little boxing skills. Again, that if the cokehead aint lying.Comment

Even if it's true, Oscar had **** all to do with making the fight. It happened because Ryan bent over the barrel and agreed to all the terms from Tank. He could have made that fight with no promoter at all, let alone a lying self-important coke head.
De La Hoya even admitted that in April:
"I have to give Ryan a lot of credit," De La Hoya, who's promoted Garcia since 2016, told ESPN. "He pushed for this. He wanted this fight. We had to literally give in on the percentage slip. I was adamant about making this a 50-50 fight. Ryan didn't care. Ryan was like, 'Give him the lion's share, I just want this fight to happen.'
Guadalupe Valencia was the major player putting it together on Garcia's side. De La Hoya mostly just threw up obstacles that Ryan overruled.
