Comments Thread For: Tszyu: Canelo Has Taken What I Wanted So He's Part of That [Hit] List Now

Australian star Tim Tszyu holds no resentment towards Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez for snatching away his world title fight. Tszyu, who holds the WBO's interim title at junior middleweight, was in line for a mandatory shot at undisputed 154-pound champion Jermell Charlo.

Gotta love his mentality and quite confidence. Mark me down as a believer until proven otherwise.

Its crazy that Charlo pulls out against Tszyu with a hand injury, sits on the sidelines while Time smokes 2 other ppl, then Charlo comes back by signing to face Canelo. 1st fight coming off of a so-called "hand injury", and he wants to face Canelo 2 divisions higher? That means his hand was never hurt, and it means he'd rather run through hell with gasoline panties on, than to have to face Tim Tszyu

I do suspect the hand injury was BS but if so, I feel certain the motivation was profit not anything to do with fear.

He had a broken hand that's for sure, the Canelo fight was a whisper for a while and that's why nothing was going to happen with that emerging, he was planning to fight this year, I cant prove it but a friend of a friend knows someone in that Gym and that's what I was told, I have no reason to doubt him he doesn't spin yarns.

Fair enough. I certainly don't claim to have any inside info. Just seemed rather fortuitous, that's all.

I have to disagree Archie. IMO Charlo was hurt, was going to fight Timmy (who I’m a huge fan of) and when his brother Mall couldn’t fight, this fight landed in Mells lap. Two big big reasons he choose Canelo over Tim. 1) Probably three to four times the purse and 2) A chance to hold two unified/lineal belts at once which would be historic. Not to mention if he loses to Canelo can actually go back down to fight Timmy for a smaller boatload of money.

Oh yea? How's this for Hollywood?--- Charlo doesn't make his own decisions, but his team, his management, they call the shots over what he can and can't do. And they must have said, "This Tim Tszyu guy is dangerous, he's gotta be juicing, he's too damn strong, he's walking thru punches like he's Frankenstein, he's destroying ppl when he hits them. It's too risky to give him a shot. If he wins, we lose all the titles and plus we'd have to rematch him again. If he wins again, ur earning potential will be sh.t, and ur career will be down the toilet. So NO, I'd rather u go up and fight Canelo. We can do that for massive $$, and if he beats u, u can still come back down and defend the titles we held hostage, and can say u were chasing greatness, just like Canelo said when Bivol kicked his old carrot top red headed ass. By that time, hopefully Tim Tszyu will have lost to someone, then he'll be old news.".
