I didn't say it was heroic, I just gave him credit for it, given today's boxing climate and Inoue's destructive power. There are plenty of boxers who have turned down big paydays to duck an ass whipping. More importantly, Fulton was the champion. Inoue would have been more than happy to come to the US for the fight. Flying all the way to Japan a mere two weeks before the fight did not benefit Fulton.
Naw, that was the biggest payday Fulton could hope to get in and around his weight class. It might be the best purse he will ever receive in his entire career.
He gets no credit for traveling overseas for that. It would have been foolish not too.
