Comments Thread For: Derrick James Won't Make Jermell Pack On The Pounds For Canelo Clash: "Want Him To Be Fast"

Jaws dropped and incredulous looks were spread across just about everyone's face when the news initially broke. Since announcing that he signed a three-fight agreement with Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions, it appeared as though Jermall Charlo would get the first crack at Canelo Alvarez.

I agree with this, coming in at 168 would negate Charlo's strengths and be a weight he'd never been at and would feel unfamiliar with.

Alvared has fought bigger opponents and took their shots, so Jermell will have to let them hands go. Its gonna be a great fight

I would say that this fight might unfold more or less like Leonard vs Hagler. But I have too much respect for the latter to compare him to Canelo.

Charlo skinny for someone 6'1 Id say his walking weight is like 170 max shh just come in normal walking weight adding 3lbs to 173-175 he should be ite to keep his speed but add some power by fight night. Obviously Canelo is going to come in his normal 190. Truthfully Canelo n McGregor are the same size idk how guys like such weight drain ,35lbs ect

If Canelo come in sharp, Jermell will be taken care of. If not, J has a chance at all the belts.

Charlo is 6ft1 but don't think he walks round heavier than 175lbs. 163-164 will be fine for him I think. Just because the limit is 68 don't mean you have to make that especially if you feel you'll be more effective being lighter.
