It was never a guarantee that Joe Smith Jr. would make it up the ladder. If we're being candid, the likelihood of him doing so was seemingly slim. In just his seventh pro fight, Smith would go on to lose to Eddie Caminero, a journeyman who immediately went on a six-fight losing skid.

Warren isn't letting yarde face anyone like Smith anytime soon. It'll be very careful matching with the aim of a third and final, cash out, shot at a world title.

Smtih vs Yarde would be an appealing fight. I like both of them. Found wanting at the elite level, but tough fighters and courageous men.

I get the attraction to a fight between them two but that is not in the works or did i miss something in the pc written. Just trying to keep the names out there or what ? Speculating again ?

I love me some Joe Smith. He just fights. While I am sure a Yarde fight will not happen now, he needs to get back in the ring if he wants to be relevant. A Yarde fight in the next year makes a ton of sense for the both of them and will be an easy sale as a great undercard on a big fight.

Joe Basic Smith still fight? I can't see him getting back near the top again, power alone just won't do it! He stiff as hell and just basic as *** with no special effects which is needed in todays fights in this weight class.

Would be interesting to see where Smith stands after getting clobbered by Beterbiev. Yarde, too. Interesting fight.
