Honest take by AJ. Fighters sacrifice so much for the sport so you want them to make as much money as they can while they can, but it certainly seems to be true that the influx of money is hurting the sport to a degree.

Alvarez was able to fight four times in year just recently so it is possible for fighters to be more active but it isn't necessary like it was in previous era's. Boxing's decline in popularity has seen the sport become more centralized in certain markets, plus the sport isn't as accessible as it was forty years ago. Boxing's primarily available on subscription based platforms and with the decline in viewers comes a bigger emphasis on ppv.

In general, boxing just isn't the power it once was so the money and dates just aren't there like they were during the Golden era's. I think if boxing got regulated the sport would have far more success because the politics is crippling the sport.

A boxer who fights once or twice a year has no right to call themselves an athlete, let alone a professional, it's more akin to amateur boxing
