Perhaps it’s just you as most long term fans on here do see something special in Boots. Doesn’t mean he’ll stay on course but the potential is definitely there.

Typical egocentric fighter, overhyped by the media. He is very good but not a super talent, matter of fact he was hugging Villa the moment he felt his punch. Why would you hug if you are so good? He was much bigger than Villa too. Villa was also the typical Latino, going forward and showing bravery, even if he had the risk of being KOed. If Villa would have fought like Afro fighters do, he could have just cruised, hugging, moving, not engaging the last three rounds and could have gone the distance, like they do. He took Botts´best punches like a man, showing he has a great chin and resistance like most Latinos.

Until now most of us hard boxing fans have been delighted by the new kid on the welterweight block, 'Boots' Ennis. We love the speed. agility and extensive repertoire of boxing moves he displays. The ease and mastery with which he was putting down his mostly novice opponents was music to the fight fan soul. His effect on the more casual fan was more muted. Partly because their only means of measuring a fighter's worth is by who he has beaten. They lack the eye-test recognition that foretells the comming of the next great fighter. As well, the casual observer tend to fear for their incumbant heroes, namely Spence and Crawford. So they take to the comment section to assuage their anxiety by pointing out imagined flaws and the lack of elite victems on Ennis's resume. Hence there is a lively back and forth as the boxing devotees counter with assuraces that Boots is the business, the legend that was to come. They point to Saturday night when Ennis, who had heretofore shown himself to be a brillient boxer, dropped the other shoe. Roiman Villa was a top ten ranked knock-out artist with a single loss in 25 fights. In his last outing he displayed an iron chin and enduring stamina as he vanquished the highly regarded Rashide Ellis. Vlla's dismantling by Ennis was a ten round rampage; a prolonged assault that was violent, surgical and complete. The perfomance erases some doubts and raises some expectations that Errol and Terrance may have waited too long. The next great ww may have replaced them both.

Villla got beat down by an "afro fighter". did he cruise? not engage? If Villa was CAPABLE of fighting like a black fighter he would have been the one administering the beating and not taking it. Your racist stereotypes are a grenade in the hand of an idiot; hence the inevitable result.
