Anderson should continue the test with some of the experienced title challengers like Luiz Ortiz and Chris Areola to gain more experience than fighting tomato cans.

Jared doesn’t survive any of the top heavyweights… Ruiz gives him huge troubles… Wilder kills him… Joshua is gunshy and a 50/50 fight… Usyk outboxes him… Joyce frustrates him…

This is exactly how Martin fights. He doesn't fight with confidence and his output is very low. He just looks to wait, wait, wait..., and try to catch the opponent, all the while getting picked off by a jab and outboxed. He seems like a lazy fighter, similar to the second tier fighters who never really make it to the very top of the heap. He looked totally content to just coast and hope for a moment when Anderson would fade or let off the gas. He's not a grinder. He doesn't have the mentality to dig deep if it's needed. Any time he went forward and attacked he had success but as soon as Anderson started fighting back, Martin would wilt. It was like watching the antithesis of Ali, Holyfield, Frazier, Fury or other fighters with that kind of true fighter's mentality. Martin is too easily discouraged inside the ring.

Anderson has time on his side, it was a solid confidence building fight. People somehow forget he’s 23. He needs atleast 2-3 more years and 6-8 more fights and then he should be ready for prime time. No need to rush a talented strong young fighter.

          Give him first,

          Kownacki
          Helenius
          Areola
          Pulev
          Wallin
          Ortiz

and then he will be ready for the big time.

Good test. Put him in with someone like Daniel Dubois or Michael Hunter next.

And people said Anderson would have stopped Kossobutskiy in 2-3 rounds? Lol, no way. If you go distance with washed up Martoin, you have still a lot of work to do.

Good for Anderson, way to step up in competition and get a solid win. I echo what most people saying, give a couple more fights against those guys in the 10-15 world rankings before he goes in with the real killers, but you’re not going to find too many this accomplished at age 23. You have to remember, Tyson Fury made it out by the skin if his ass against Steve Cunningham when he was coming
up, and Usyk had some struggles with Witherspoon and Chisora while getting used to heavyweight. Slow it down, take your time, a couple more years of seasoning….

This was actually a very good fight, between two fighters who didn't want to lose.

I would say Chisora or Takam is a good opponent to have after 1 or 2 tune ups if Anderson stays active and after that someone like Dubious or Parker.

Then title challengers or former champs like Andy and AJ.

If he made it through that I'd imagine he'd be a solid champ.

AJ got no credit for beating Martin in 1-2 rounds.

Kownacki got no credit for beating Martin. Ortiz got no credit for beating Martin.

But people say Martin is a good win for Anderson, that tells you everything you need to know, Jared is still a baby in a learning season.

He is not ready for top guys at all. Even somebody like Wallin would be too much probably.
