  • You bum @ss weirdos are ****** for thinking Charlo ducking Tszyu. We're talking life changing cash to fight boxing's outgoing cash cow. Easy decision to take instead of fighting some nobody from Australia only getting into the light just now through his father's name.

Inoue deserves it more than Mell. Should Canelo call him up to 168?

Alvarez announced the fight Friday afternoon to end weeks of speculation and also dispel previously and widely believed rumors that he would next face WBC middleweight titlist Jermall Charlo.

Al Haymon is a shrewd MoFo man.

So we all thought it was going to be his older brother fighting Canelo until this switcharoo.

This basically means Spence will move to 154 after he KO’s Crawford and the hope here is Jermell beats Canelo which is highly unlikely, regardless, Jermell gets a career payday and still gets a chance to fight Tszyu or all the belts at 154 go up for grabs and everyone gets a piece of it while laughing all the way to the bank.

        • This PBC deal is robbery @ best. Jermall Charlo is 154. Spence is a 147er with a real test in Bud. His elite max is 154 @ this rate Canelo 3rd fight will be Danny Garcia vs Lara winner. Canelo don't want no smoke from Benavidez or Morrell jr which is why he ain't want the. Bivol fight @168. Canelo knows his body via injuries n knew issues is slowing down. When he finishes this deal he will link back up with hearn to fight Berlanga the easiest threat @168. Then Mugunia then retire. Canelo not aging well his 32 ish is more like 37. Some folks age horribly like Canelo, some like Mayweather n Pacquiao can do it til 40 cause there 40 is like 35. 35-38 is when an athlete becomes shot on avg some can be earlier Canelo some longer. Hell Luis Ortiz was beating wilder til the ko both times n he was like 42 but really like 50

Only Breadman said that and on the week of the fight. No other expert thought Lopez had any chance at all. Popular consensus on Canelo is that he has slowed down and isn't the fighter he was too. Charlo is the naturally bigger guy and this is their job so let's not use the he hasn't fought for a while excuse. If he ain't ready don't accept the fight but come on he's got three months to get ready for it.

                • I always joke that if they gave me 10 million dollars, I'd step in the ring and let Mike Tyson knock me out.

So it's a welcome surprise to see it come to reality with Jermell agreeing to this fight.

Who's fight no 2 and 3 then? And what will be the fights PBC make for the other Canelo contenders they have that don't get the golden ticket?

If you were lined up to fight a guy and waited it out to fight someone else instead, you ducked a person. He may have done what the majority of people would have but it doesn't change the fact it was a duck. Brian Custer said this was in the works for a while as well so that means Charlo's hand was fine for a while but he decided to wait out for a possible Canelo payday instead of rescheduling the Tsyzu fight.
