Comments Thread For: Joe Smith Has No Problem Facing David Benavidez If He Moves Up

David Benavidez isn't the ideal target of any fighter. Although he's gone on to become a two-time super middleweight champion and current WBC interim tag holder, the 26-year-old is seldom called out. But who could blame his competition?

I’d like to see it. Joe definitely has beyond a punchers chance!

Joe would take a beating against Benavidez, but he'd be game. He would last longer than he did against Beterbiev.

Benavidez ain’t interested in moving up and fighting dudes his size or bigger. He’s at 168 waiting 154-160 fighters to move up, or one’s who have moved up.

Joe Smith is just as tall as Benavidez with even longer reach lol. Definitely hits harder.

He could very well beat Benavidez.

Smith will do a little bit better against Benevidez than he did against Beterbiev, but not a whole lot better.

I'd like Smith on this one; would be a great fight.

Canelos biggest mistake was picking Bivol instead of Smith, he would have most likely beat Smith and would still be considered number one.

Would be a good even fight but I doubt benny wanting any 175 smoke for the moment...at least not until after a canelo showdown. I give DB 2-3 more fights at 168 before making the jump.
