  • Comments Thread For: Crawford: I'm Not Looking To KO Spence, But If It Comes, It's Icing On The Cake

Terence Crawford has stopped 13 out of his last 14 foes, including 10 in a row, but for his fight against Errol Spence Jr. on July 29, Bud wants to make sure that at the very least, he puts on a boxing clinic and winning performance.

Good. He doesn't need too. he has all the tools, and finally the opportunity, to win enough rounds that even a canelo-esque, PBC trio of judges will have to give it too him.

I'm of the thinking that Crawford wins the fight..its a matter of how for me. Something tells me with the historical significance of the fight both men are going to leave it all in the ring come fight night!!

Freddie Roach once said if you let a fight go to the scorecards you better be prepared to accept that decision good or bad.

Or we get a decent but cautious fight like Canelo-Golovkin 1 and 2 where both guys almost fight to a stalemate without unloading the arsenal. I hope not but I have a feeling there’s a great deal of respect between the two and we get a close cautious bout.

Crawford would have to be somewhat careful too. He's been on rubbery legs twice, briefly hurt against Gamboa and that guy 'mean machine'.

He does clearly have the better variety in skill than Spence.

I would be ecstatic if we got a fight like Canelo GGG 1 & 2 (well in the ring, maybe not the judging controversy); those were high quality fights with both guys landing solid shots. Their granite chins kept them up.

I am concerned we are gonna get a Bud like he was for the Postol fight, but with less relative power vs a bigger opponent. Similarly we get Spence as he was vs Garcia.

Both fights were decent but they were anticlimactic given their respective styles and status as fighters. On paper it seemed we were being treated to an ATG action packed fight. I never got the sense of high drama or edge of your seat suspense due to both fighting so cautiously, and rightfully so. But the fights have little replay value and weren’t discussed amongst the fight of the year candidates.

I agree about your Bud-Postol concern although that might be the best path of victory for Bud.
