The Armory in Minneapolis - Super welterweight contender Erickson "Hammer" Lubin (25-2, 18 KOs) dropped and stopped Luis "Cuba" Arias (20-4-1, 9 KOs) in the fifth-round of their scheduled 10-round showdown.

I have to admit that Erickson Lubin performed just superbly and displayed a great deal of resilience last night against Luis Arias after the beating he took from Sebastian Fundora. He looked like his old self.

Now all he needs to do is string together a few more fights like that in order to get himself back into title contention. I mean time is on his side. He's only 27 years old.

I remember everyone on boxingscene saying he’ll never fight again after he lost to Fundora.

If he can avoid Mendoza's huge punch, he may be able to outbox him which would kill a triangle theory. He seems to have one of the best fighting spirits in the game because he always finds a bright light after devastating loss....true fighter there, rare spirit.

Great fight Lubin. Dude looked like a fresh 27 year old should. He now has some serious experience. That is a strong young man, mentally and physically!

Get the rematch! That's what Jermell would do! Call up Fundora!

In this case I would think, Lubin got the long brutal tko by Fundora. Fundora got the one punch KO by Brian. In a rematch? I have to see how Fundora reacts. Lubin seems to have recovered.

You can be motivated as much as you want, but fighting once every year will get you nowhere brotha. When is your next fight, in 2024?
