  • I do not agree with the stoppage. However, Williams caused it on himself and would have eventually gotten stopped. He didn't listen to his corner by not throwing enough body shots. That could have made a difference in the fight.

The ref was a joke though. He gave Williams a warning for a low blow, but Adames threw them all night. Go figure.

    • Just a horrible stoppage. Let the fights end clearly, or wait for the corner to throw in the towel.

Oh STFU kid and go do something with your life instead of bagging on people that have some amount of notoriety where of course you have absolute none as an anonymous troll poster

Idk why Williams stayed in the trenches after rd 4. And Adames was just ripping to his body.

J Rock looked much better when he was boxing and picking his shots on the outside.

I don’t think it was the worst stoppage, but was still too early. But based on the scorecards at the time, I guess it didn’t matter too much anyways. One judge amazingly had it a shutout for Adames.

          • Great fight! Time for Jrock to hang ‘em up before he gets seriously hurt. No shame, he’s had a solid career despite not having a chin and terrible terrible inactivity…5 fights since 2018?

            • Should the fight have been stopped? The answer is no; Absolutely not. J-Rock deserved the right to go out on his shield. However, with hindsight being 20.20; I thought the referee made the right call.

J-Rock was getting rocked even with partially blocked punches landed to the head and his legs were like rubber. Most of the punches that Adames landed to the head were all partially blocked with Julian's gloves and yet those punches still hurt Williams.

The longer the fight would have gone; The greater were his chances of getting hurt because he was down on all three official scorecards and needed a knockout to win the fight. However, as we all know; J-Rock is not a knockout puncher.

MW is barren, and Garcia is potentially the last good payday he'll receive. Lara should beat Garcia, but I wouldn't bet on it. Isn't the fight supposedly at a catch-weight too?
Really don't know if it's a catchweight. If he wins, he can rematch castaņo, if the kid decide to move up.

"Although he’s fought just once above the welterweight limit, Garcia will abandon his new weight class to venture off into the land of the 160s. On August 5th, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, Garcia will officially take on current WBA middleweight champion, Erislandy Lara. Their impending contest will take place at a catchweight of 155 pounds."

PBC has the 154lb division on lock, yet Lara decided to move up. It made no sense, and now he's gonna fight Garcia at 155.

I think Kownacki should not fight anymore.

I don't know, pretty sure he was advised to move up.
