Vitali Klitschko Interested in Mexico Defense in 2010?

Could WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko make a title defense in Mexico next year? The WBC says it's possible. Klitschko returned to action last weekend at Staples Center in Los Angeles, stopping Chris Arreola in ten. There appears to be a big demand in several areas of Mexico for a major heavyweight title defense. [details]

One would think that the best opponent for that was just beaten less than a week ago by Vitali...

And for the love of god, if he picks Maskaev instead of Kevin Johnson for his December defense... I'm not going to be very happy. What has Maskaev done to warrant his millionth title shot?

If he was going to fight in Mexico, he should have fought Arreola there. It would have been perfect. Two Eastern Europeans heavyweights fighting in Mexico? It just doesn't fit to me.

Vitali has to fight Maskaev next because that is his number 1. He might as well get that fight over with in Russia of Germany and then fight Haye or Johnson in Mexico. Problem is, I don't think Haye gets past Valuev unless he can somehow topple the giant! I know Haye has power but in order for Haye to land on Valuev, he would have to leave his feet and that would make his punches like mosquito bites to Valuev...

If an old and slow Holyfield can beat Valuev (I don't care what anybody says, he was flat out robbed), what do you think Haye is going to do? Haye will destroy Valuev, and then if he get's a Klit fight, watch out! People seem to think the Klits would destroy Haye but think of this. Haye will not just walk straight ahead with no head movement and fight them the way Arreola fought last weekend. Haye will move, swing wild and be very unpredictable, which COULD spell disaster for the Klits. However, I still think the Klits would and should be favored with Vitali being the bigger favorite of the two...

He probably just sees it as a big opportunity for big money. Mexicans would probably love to see him fight and i'm sure he has financial advisors and crap who will tell him where he can earn the most money.

He should be made to fight John Ruiz, just so that one of them is forced to go away. The problem with that is that both of them just keep getting chance after chance no matter how many times they lose. If Haye loses, no doubt Valuev-Ruiz will complete their best-of-15 series around 2019.

Anyway, I recall people trying to make a big thing out of the fact that Peter-Maskaev was the first heavyweight title fight in Mexico, and still no one cared. There are a lot of Germans who will pay a lot of money to see him fight in their country, I can't see the logic in him fighting in Mexico.
