Dmitry Pirog Best Fighting Style Ever

A slique come forward pressure fighter

we didn’t get the chance to see how good he truly was

career cut short by a back injury

I believe he would have beat ggg had that fight go down

    a tremendous talent he was

I was expecting big things from him. A fight against GGG was looming and then he had a career ending back injury.

I think now he is a politician.

That dude was a lot of fun to watch. He derailed Danny and then hurt his back. I loved how he used that shifting technique to set up the KO. He would have done big things for sure, well, as long as he knocked people out. He would have been robbed by American judges in a big fight decision later on and the American groupies would cry no robbery when it would clearly be a robbery. But he would have done well besides that.

If he could take a punch? Maybe.

Otherwise Im not certain he could beat GGG outright

But he definitely had a style that would trouble many guys

Problem is, his style was detrimental to himself as evident of his back injury. Unfriendly for sure.

Would give anyone these days a run for their money. Canelo, GGG, all of them for sure.

his upperbody is too long to fight the style he did. dude was like 6'2 fighting with Toney, Floyd and Canelo's style. they are all under 5'10. it is no wonder his back blew out

even Canelo now can't do those upperbody movements.

Yeah I would have loved to see him continue.

That reminds me, there was a guy I saw recently on PBC card, undefeated, maybe Polish guy, who somewhat (SOMEWHAT) reminded me of Pirog, I called him Lil Pirog in the rbr thread. He is pretty nice.

I'll go look up his name, or maybe better to be suprised by him when he pops up on TV again.

well part of beating big punchers is having a great defense. I think he could have beat GGG, its at minimum a 50-50 fight if not better, and at the time he was more proven than GGG i would say having beaten Jacob.

Same reason I think Bivol is the only guy that beats beterbiev today is having a top notch defense is the first step to beating a massive puncher.
