Can't help but think Benavidez-Morrell is a misstep for the PBC?

At the moment, we're likely to be getting Canelo-Charlo and Benavidez-Morrell if rumours are correct. No mention of Andrade or Plant.

Offering up Charlo to Canelo does make sense, so we'll leave him out of the equation even if Benavidez-Charlo would probably perform well. Morrell is no doubt the best fight outside Canelo for the hardcores, and he may have some recognition outside the hardcores for the Tank-Ryan card KO, but surely a fight between Benavidez and Andrade performs just as well? Meanwhile, the PBC could build Morrell's name with a Plant fight.

Should they come through those fights (Benavidez-Andrade; Morrell-Plant), you've got options in May 2024. If Canelo turns down Benavidez, then you've got (a) a ready made fight with a now more recognised Morrell, and (b) Benavidez fighting Morrell making Canelo choosing say, Berlanga, instead seem even more of a disgrace.
