If Canelo fights Charlo or Berlanga next instead of Benavidez I for one will start to wonder about Canelo and his desire to be considered great

Boxing purse splits don’t work that way. Your salary isn’t about who you beat, it’s about how much money you can generate. Canelo vs Bivol was basically a charity event for Bivol. Canelo didn’t “need” another title at 175, and he doesn’t need another title at 175. He doesn’t need Bivol.

Canelo has been a top draw since his 154 days, and was already being checked out by hardcore fans at 147.
if bivol was out there fighting mathew hatton's and a bunch of bums for years he would have been in our hearts and on our minds just like canelo. he was just manufactured into being a star. cong**** on that. he doesnt need to do anything. he should just retire or fight a bunch of fake fights like floyd

i love jack for this . if the weight difference is too much than don't fight cruiserweights. plain and simple. canelo's resume is already great. he doesn't need to do something ****** like those suggested terms. but i think andrade and shishkin deserve canelo fight more than charlo at the moment. though i would be ok with charlo if somehow their only other alternative is berlanga.

Canelo @ 168 was fighting Charlo (layoff n not a real 168er) Andrade (same thing) or Jaime Mugunia ( same thing minus layoff). No one wants to see title fights that literally can be fought the weight class below after all the handicap clauses. Or your fighting guys literally from the weight class below.
i bet he will try to make that fight. remember when he was ducking ggg he went after chavez jr to delay the fight. right now he is looking for those easy but big fights, not that mungia is super big but its big enough and mungia is terrible like chavez jr, he even fought his last fight at 168 prob to entice canelo.

Clenelo is a beeyatch. Mexicans need to turn their backs on that fake Mexican coward. Badou is a real one.

Canelo next 3 fights Charlo, Mugunia in Mexico or Texas & then if Beterbiev is still around at the end of next year he will try his shot vs him once he starts slowing down or looking shot by age n wars. Canelo is pulling a Mayweather but more blatant with stall tactics for age, rehydration clauses, probably only him to have an IV n no one else ect.

I’m all for the Benavidez fight. That fight is long overdue and does not required to have the good ol Bob Arum marinating anymore

Is anyone surprised by this? Canelo loves to try and minimize risk however he can. Weight drain his opponents, add rehydration clauses, give guys short notice for fights, avoid real threats to face lesser competition, take banned substances. It’s getting harder and harder for Canelo fans to defend their man crush but they’re still giving it a go no matter how ****** it makes them look.
