It was because of Lopez and it was because of Taylor. It takes both fighters to create the positive or negative appearance of both fighters. One fighter is never responsible for that.

Taylor looked like he may be struggling at the weight, as he did in his previous fight. It's also a style thing. Catterall boxed and moved well and Lopez when he's on form is a fast, skillful fighter.

Knock this dude out and maybe fight Haney or something. We all know Teo won’t fight you!

Taylor has had a really long pro and amateur career, isnt young, and is supposedly moving up in weight.

I really never heard that much about him being weight drained though.

At WW he is even less of a puncher, wont be blindingly fast.

Unofficially, he lost his last two fights, not by a point either

I am wrong alot, but I dont thing the move up will end well.

I think there was a lot of talk about him struggling to make weight before the Catterall fight.

But then given how that went, if he fought anyone but Catterall it would look like he was avoiding him so think that’s why he stayed at the weight even though he didn’t do the rematch.

he should just move up in weight and stop swapping coaches all the time. He hasn’t looked good after leaving McGuigan in my opinion

prograis, taylor, ramirez would all be fringe level fighters at any decent weight class, they were lucky that the weight class was weak and they were the top guys. the simplest explanation is the best, them guys arent very good whereas lopez is... taylor will get slapped about at welterweight and the excuse will be 'he's had too many wars' or some BS

Back to back fights looking slower than usual. He's either washed or weight drained. A fight @147 vs Thurman would be a good match to gauge what it is. He's coming off a layoff but huge name for the division a win would put you vs the Spence vs Crawford loser

I believe Josh would have performed better if he had the right referee in there who would have allowed inside fighting. That was one of the major factors and reasons why Lopez won the fight.

Taylor wasn't permitted to implement any of his typical, dirty or roughhousing tactics on the inside. The referee kept breaking them apart each time they clinched.

If you take him at his word then it's weight drained - he siad his legs just weren't there after 4 rounds and its not like Lopez hurt him during the first 4 rounds.

he hasn't a chance at 147 vs any top 5 fighter. He should aim for Connor Benn if Benn can get his legal issues sorted, Keith Thurman or the guy with dreads at 147 who says "whooosh" a lot
