  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: I Don't Think We Can Get To The Number Whyte Wants For Joshua Rematch

Seems Whyte is just looking for one last paycheck instead of actually believing he can beat Joshua.

I'm sure the offer is around $1 mill. Whyte should ask for $100,000 and then use the motivation to take the Wilder fight from AJ. But, he won't. AJ won't fight again until he fights Wilder, and once he fights Wilder, the curtain closes.

Seems more like hearns is using names that AJ won’t go near trying to promote his next fight. Say “whyte Tyson fury and wilder” but the reality is none of those fights is going to get made anytime soon hearns meal ticket is over when any of those fights happen

Does Whyte think he's Tyson Fury, to demand such a lot?

The guy lost to AJ, Povetkin and Fury, and went life and death with Chisora.

Chisora would be a better qnd cheaper pick.

No way in hell they take that risk. Ortiz made Ruiz look really, really bad in their fight. Ortiz's legs are dead so he couldn't stay on his feet but he still hits hard and is crafty.

If Joshua beats him, nobody will give Joshua any credit because Ortiz is 44, fat, and coming off a loss.

But if Ortiz manages to use his craftiness to land a big left and gets the win, it's essentially the end of Joshua's career. He'll never live it down.

Plus you have the longstanding reasons Ortiz isn't a popular matchup:
-he doesn't speak English and he's Cuban, not Mexican or Puerto Rican, so he has no notable fanbase outside South Florida
-he has popped for PEDs before and he's a risk to do it again
-he still hits like a truck
                  -he's a tricky southpaw

Ortiz is a lose/lose situation. No credit if you win, total disaster if you lose, and even if you beat him you'll probably end up looking ****** like Ruiz and Wilder (twice).

Ortiz turned down 7 million to fight Joshua. Grandpa ain't getting out of bed for six-figures.
