Or won't achieve ATG status until after they retire.

Everyone on God's Earth were able to at least make him look clownish, but not May.

I can only answer such a question with a multi pronged question ...which PRIME ATG fighter(s) was available for him to fight that would have beaten him and was it May's fault the fight(s) didn't happen ?

I agree with some of what you say but when you mention "all time great" or "slick fighter" you're talking opinion rather than fact. Words like "great" and "slick" are opinions because you can't prove a fighter is great or slick the way you can prove a fighter is in the Hall of Fame or not. I'm not saying you're wrong, an educated opinion is often right, it's just not a fact.
