He got the kind of money he wanted after complaining about being scammed by his previous managers. He even sued them, if I'm not mistaken. He got lucky DAZN was around spending gargantuan amounts of money like there's no tomorrow. Those days are gone now. He was at the right time and the right place. I don't think he's interested in going back.

It looks like Golovkin will be retiring, which is a shame but time waits for no man. I have mixed feelings on the career of Golovkin, I cannot help but feel so many good fights never happened.

At the end of the day, Golovkin will likely be a first ballot of famer. Plus he's been credited with open the door for a number of amateurs from central Asia to turn pro.

It was golovkins fault that fight stalled. Canelo told him come to 154 and it's done. Golovkin said no. Canelo said ok catchweight. Golovkin said no. But he did say yes to fighting Floyd at 154. But when it came to canelo Abel Sanchez refused. Golovkin refused to make any concessions as the B side. So all that talk of canelo aging him out is nonsense. He's the one who challenged canelo. You can't challenge somebody then demand them come to your weight. Especially when they're the A side.

Bottom line is Golovkin is overrated. He lost to Danny Jacobs too. Lost to dervychenko. He doesn't have a single career defining win. The white media did their best to make him into this all time great. But the proof is in the pudding. His resume is trash.
