Comments Thread For: Nonito Donaire-Alexandro Santiago WBC Title Fight Set For July 15 In Las Vegas

Nonito Donaire finally has a fight date to go along with his named opponent for another title opportunity. The former four-division champ will face Mexico's Alexandro Santiago for the vacant WBC bantamweight title on July 15 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The long-in-place bout will serve as the co-feature to the already confirmed Frank Martin-Artem Harutyunyan lightweight bout as part of a Showtime tripleheader.

    Go get 'em, Nonito.

Still want him to move down to 115 and get a strap there. If he does he becomes a 5 division titlist and puts himself on a 6 man list with Hitman, Sugar Ray, Oscar, Floyd, and Manny.

It seems that every time Donaire fights...there is a vacant WBC title available.

The last time he fought for a vacant WBC belt was Burnett in 2018, and that was the worthless Diamond version.
