$100 million each seems toppy to me for Joshua, Wilder and co.

Benzema and Ronaldo deals aren’t done with a goal of recouping those “investments”. There are no TV, Merchandise sales or ticket sales that can ever recoup those deals.
Those are absurd amounts of money that only oil money can pay out for the royal despots. This is all extravaganza because they can.
These guys have planes fitted with gold toilets and spend lavishly in Europe and the US.
$100 million for boxing is chump change

Boring Hearn! The news is , two fighters in the pipeline , neither of who has signed anything, both of who were brutally KO'd by Tyson Fury and the brag by Hearn is that it's keeping Fury out of the picture. Talk about minor things to celebrate , this beats the lot .....This is rock bottom!

They're not worth 100 million. They've not fought everyone to prove they're worthy of that? I mean wilder needs to beat Ruiz to show me hes worth that. I think Zhang should get a bit of that money

The deals broadly were done as part of Saudi Vision 2030, -- an attempt to diversify the Saudi economy away from oil and shape the country's image into something more secular. More specifically, it is with an aim of winning the right to host the FIFA world cup in the next decade. There is at least a plan behind it -- and, furthermore, football is very popular in Saudi Arabia.

I don't say it won't be $100m; I say it does sound a little on the big side and that the sums being paid to the footballers is not a good comparator because of the reasons cited. The amounts they have paid to boxers is a better measure. If $60 to $70 million has been enough to get Joshua over there before, it follows that is should be enough again.

This is why a boxing fan of 40 year's like myself is watching more & more ufc. This would is a regular fight card on a big ufc ppv. Boxing has to get Saudi blood money involved for a non title fight & Eddie talks like they're entitled to it.

Back when this fight was for undesputed all Wilder ever wanted was 50 50,will he be getting it?

Wilder/AJ is still fascinating to me.

The consensus now seems to be that AJ is too circumspect and will just get chinned but equally Wilder is not a young guy he's taken a battering by Fury and is just a smaller man in general and he routinely gets outboxed by lesser fighters than AJ.

Either way someone will get absolutely smashed in under 6 rounds.
