Comments Thread For: Prograis on Haney-Loma: Not a Robbery, It Was Close, Haney Should Run It Back

On paper, Devin Haney's recent showdown against Vasiliy Lomachenko had all the makings of a can't miss fight. The skills between them were clear as day but the animosity, at least prior to their weigh-in, was missing. But, as the two stood shirtless across one another after making the lightweight limit of 135 pounds, Haney (30-0, 15 KOs) shoved the Ukrainian halfway across the stage. From there, Regis Prograis was sold.

Nah, he should go up to 140 and fight Prograis! 135 is going to drain him too badly, and the money for a Loma rematch just isn't there, probably Shakur too! Only fight at 135 for Haney is Tank! That's not a good look for Haney @ 135!

Haney won close simple and plain. you have to beat the champ. Loma did great work but he has no power and missed a lot in those thrown combinations. On the other hand Haney connected clean up and down stairs.Screw the rematch garbage unless that loser cry baby Loma accepts 70-30

the simple truth here is that if its a close fight, what happened to round 10 and 11 that was clear Loma won that Devin got gift. Moreso, the same DM scored round 2 for Garcia in Davis fight. who does that? how credible is that? no dumb will question who won round 10 and 11!

If the Regis show up that beat Josh Taylor then that Regis beats Haney by tko. Haney is very beatable. For a defensive fighter he is ultra hittable

Well, that would be a non-existent Regis Prograis because Josh Taylor beat that man clean and clear.

Maybe it's just a badly written article but the "from his perspective" comment makes me wonder about Prograis .

He should be saying, "stuff a Loma rematch, get up here to 140 Haney so I can whup your ass!"

A very close fight that was so difficult to score, for some rounds.

I do actually wish they would make these big title fights 13 rounds, just add that extra round, it can help.

Loma and Haney can rub it back, but if Haney wants it only at 140lbs, then I don't think Loma would accept.

I honestly think they just might run it back, but not just yet. Haney is going to wait out Loma a bit further. It can only help him and give zero chance to Loma. If this fight was already considered close by some, there is no chance Loma is going to win a decision as he ages further.

Then he can face Loma, beat him clear and say, see, the first fight wasn't a fluke.
