Benavidez likely would have stopped Plant in a brutal fashion had Plant not been allowed to hold excessively.

Canelo is about 45 in terms of body wear and tear from PED's, weight manipulation, 20 years of boxing. Bivol is the same age and Canelo looked like an old man. He has no gas tank at this point and relies on fighting in spurts.

Benavidez is young, relentless and he pummels his opponents. When he doesn't fold to Canelo's early round spurts, by the 7th he will have Canelo in big trouble, and with Canelo's legitimately iron chin, he will get battered. He is a year or so away from retirement anyway, and I highly doubt he even fights Benavidez. I see it more likely that Canelo retires or vacates and takes a shot at cruiser if he can find a really weak belt , where his chin would be a huge asset, and then he retires saying that he "chased greatness," his whole career, and says he has nothing left to prove.

Canelo isn't beating any top tier guys anymore. Benavidez is young and will, if it happens, f u c k him up.

Canelo is the biggest star in boxing. Yes there is some negotiation but he brings the money not anyone else. If you cry too much then you risk losing it all

People don’t understand that Canelo is in decline and only wants fights with sure wins. Matchroom only signed underachiever Berlanga because Canelo feels he and other B level British fighters insure he can keep his heist of DAZN going. There is zero chance of Canelo fighting Benny or Morrell at 168, zero. Bivol is willing to drop to 168, but Canelo knows another loss to Bivol and his DAZA heist will come to a quick end. This is what happens in boxing when suits at DAZN fail to list acceptable opponents for the ridiculous money their having to pay, and now their stuck with having to pay Canelo crazy money for mediocre opponents. DAZN has nobody but themselves to blame for allowing Canelo to pick their pockets.

The issue with both fights for Bivol is the WBC. They won't sanction any fight with their belt at stake for Bivol because he's Russian. They should call the bluff though and have Beterbiev and Bivol fight without the WBC belt at stake. Canelo needs to fight Benavidez.
