Here’s what I think happened: That BLK Prime money wasn’t real and he didn’t make near what was reported.
He didn’t have any other real options so he did what he had to do to make the Spence fight.
I don’t think Haymon came closer to what Crawford originally wanted. He came to them and accepted a deal close to his actual value.

The PBC side didn't want the fight to get made until they exhausted all other options for Spence. They wanted him to fight Thurman next but Spence held firm on the comment that he would never give Thurman a payday so they basically had no other option than to fight Crawford at this point.

Promoters stand in the way of a lot of fights if only more boxers with their trainers talked more and put it in the public to put the pressure on the promotions to make fights we want to see

I believe it changed after they spoke to eachother, as I cant fathom Bud going back on what he initially walked away from. Could be wrong though.
