I understand a fighter wanting a proper training camp for a title shot, but this is a prime example of why fighters should STAY ready so they don't have to GET ready. Barboza's last bout was in February. Shouldn't he be back in the gym by now? especially since there was a purse bid lined up for him vs. Paro.

It's possible that Barboza is simply using the time excuse to squeeze more money from MR's pockets, just like he complained about his split when MR won the Paro purse bid.

I'm sure Rick Mirigian will find a way to spin this. Ultimately, Barboza keeps dropping opportunities that are presented to him due to greed. Barboza has no leverage because he has no title and TR can't get him the Teo fight. His TR contract is also ending in August. Mirigian needs to stop beating around the bush and make the Ramirez fight.

In other words these lames didn’t want the smoke by offering a fair number to Barboza, very likely low balled him if they offered anything.. bunch of scabs

Chickens are coming home to roost for Hearn.
Boxers are having a hard time separating Matchroom from DAZN,
which already disbanded their squandering drunken sailors long time ago.
If Mikey Garcia was paid $7 mil to fight Jessie Vargas,
why can't Barroso be paid at least $1 million?

Eddie Hearn is actually cheap without DAZN.
If you can recall Amanda Serrano being given an advanced payment of $10K from Eddie
for a certain fight. I don't remember what happened but the fight was having issues
and Hearn wants his money back or he sues. I mean $10K is not even enough for 1 week training.

Hearn should have just overpaid for Barboza - he’s already likely overpaid for Prograis, who’s likely expecting to get the Andrade treatment and pocket three good paychecks from Hearn and DAZN for so-so opponents. That’s why Prograis is now spreading his pea**** feathers and hoping to scare off Devin Haney by boasting about how bad he’d hurt Haney. He knows the reality is Haney will give him a boxing lesson/whooping and mess up his DAZN hustle.

All the Top Rank fighters at 140 are scared sh-tless of Regis Prograis. Except for Josh Taylor.

Huge mistake for Prograis to sign with Hearn, instead of Arum/TR, financially speaking.
Money no longer grows on trees on the DAZN compound unless you're Canelo.

TR/ESPN pay better as confirmed by Ramirez. Hearn was even surprised he's paid that much
when he was trying to make Benn vs Ramirez. Precisely why Prograis vs Ramirez had issues.

Exactly right - just like Hearn still goes on and on about how Jarell Miller owes him the money he advanced him for the Joshua fight that got called off when Miller popped dirty for PEDs. Five years later and Hearn is still whining about that money lol!!

Right now the only things that seem to be holding Hearn up are:

*His pathetic “Yes, Mr. Alvarez, whatever you say Mr. Alvarez, I’ll even wear Dolce & Gabbana for you, Mr. Alvarez” relationship with Canelo (who has had three straight underwhelming fights on PPV).

*Milking the last remnants of AJ’s career,

                      * IFL TV, Boxing Social and the other camera monkeys who serve as PR video sycophants for Hearn and allow him to project a dynamic image that obscures the reality of his floundering business.

But you’re starting to see the mask slip on Hearn - his nasty confrontation with Ohara Davies on IFL was pretty eye-opening.
