  • Comments Thread For: Stevenson Believes Controversy With Loma Could Follow Haney, Encourages Rematch

Generally, Devin Haney is sporting a gigantic grin after the final bell rings. His smile, understandably, is due to the one-sided nature of his in-ring appearances. However, two weeks ago, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, the 24-year-old appeared concerned.

Haney was crying between the rounds. He's not gonna "run it back" for any money. He got a gift and he knows it.

No need for a rematch. Not that many people watched the first fight and not many more would watch the rematch just because there was a little “controversy” over the decision (which Loma could have avoided by starting faster in the early rounds and doing more in the 12th round).

Just look at the low PPV numbers for Haney-Loma: the fact is there are more people complaining about the fight’s outcome than those who actually bought the fight in the first place. Arum can mourn and moan all he wants about how Loma got a raw deal, but he’s not going to put his money where his mouth is and actually finance a rematch.

Haney needs to do whatever he can - short of agreeing to ridiculous rehydration clauses - to fight Davis next.

Haney won the fight 6 rounds to 4 and 2 even. No need to have a second fight. Fight Stevenson or Tank.

Leave’em. Let’em be known as the guy who didn’t beat, but in actuality lost to Lomachenko. That contingent will always exist. But his fangirls want him to run with it, it is what it is.

While, I respect Shakur's opinion; I must vehemently disagree with him. One should please name me a time in his professional career when Devin "The Dream" Haney was not controversial?

He became a lightning rod of controversy ever since coming out of the school of Floyd Mayweather, Jr. So he should go about his business because he will never be able to please these anti-black racist boxing fans because he is black.

They want to see him fail anyway. Defeating Loma in a rematch would just further cement and intensify their hatred of him. Shakur Stevenson needs to understand that these same anti-black boxing fans don't like his black ass either.

So long as he remains black and successful in his career.

I don't believe that. It's going to be left up him and his team. He said if it makes sense he would do it. Fighting either Tank or Loma at 135 I would be satisfied.
