Spence clearly stopped fighting and defending because he thought the fight will be paused. He was ****** to do that, but Ugas had a clear shot at a completely unaware fighter and Spence took that like a champ. He really just laughed at himself for allowing that to happen to him.

My point is that if Spence was in serious trouble then Ugas should have been able to finish him. Without a knockdown there was no extra time for Spence to recover. So how hurt was he really? Not hurt enough to stop pounding on Ugas. He recovered just fine.
